Its subtle, tapered handle with a gentle thumbrest is both beautiful and functional. But Minnesota is the star of the show. Raw clay forms the state’s outline—bold and beautiful without being flashy, much like our Scandinavian heritage. The outline is created by carefully cutting and applying a sticker to the cup before glazing. Then, after dipping the mug in glaze, I peel the sticker off at just the right moment. What’s left is raw clay surrounded by glaze. The glaze pools along the top edge, creating subtle color variations and a slightly raised texture. A humble celebration of home, handmade with care.
